Martin Hirsch is an art
historian specialising in the late medieval and early Renaissance
art of Southern Germany and his studies include Michael
Pacher and the late-Gothic terracotta sculpture of Bavaria.
He has contributed articles to the catalogues of the Neue
Pinakothek Munich, written on the Ulm sculptor Daniel Mauch,
and reviewed works on late medieval and Renaissance art,
ranging from 15th century sculpture in Lombardy and Burgundy,
to Southern German Renaissance medals and a monograph on
Albrecht Dürer. He is currently engaged as a researcher
for the Coin Collection at the State Museum Munich.
