Our Lecturers & Tour Leaders
Paul Blanchard was born
in New York. He read English and Art History and was then
awarded a place on the Syracuse Fellowship Program in Florence.
An active visual artist as well as an art scholar, he has
taught painting, drawing and the history of Modern Art at
several American universities, has shown his own work in
Europe and the United States, and has lectured on both continents.
He has published widely and is the author of the Blue Guides
to Northern Italy and Southern Italy. In recent years he
has designed cultural tours for the San Francisco Museum
of Modern Art, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Art Institute
of Chicago, the Dallas Art Museum, the Neuberger Museum
of Art, the University of Chicago, Cornell University and
Stanford University. He currently lives in Tuscany.
